WHAT TO EXPECT
Linda's work pairs modern materials with the ancient technique of encaustic painting, where beeswax, resin and pigment are layered to produce a luminous surface that captures and reflects light. Her Continuum series gathers the unnoticed detritus of life, the bits you flicked off ones coat and the stuff crunched beneath ones shoes, and includes this imagery in her wax paintings. The translucency of the wax creates layers of information, while stirring the senses of sight, smell, and touch.

Linda will be premiering this new series, Continuum, and will be doing live painting for much of the weekend.

Linda Womack shares her love of encaustic painting through national gallery exhibits, blogs and live workshops. She is the author of Embracing Encaustic: Learning to Paint with Beeswax and is currently represented in Portland by Guardino Gallery.
