ARTIST NAME
Misha Mayernick

WHAT TO EXPECT
Misha employs a strongly graphical style, embedding digital design elements into the matrix of painting to inspire color and form, to blur the boundaries of the media, and to add a sense of immediacy to the finished pieces.

Her projects are often composites of acrylic paintings, digital photos, and images created from scanned materials using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Much of her work includes subtle references to various Persian and Arabic mystical traditions, including those of 19th century prophetic-figure Bahá’u’lláh, founder of the Bahá’í Faith. Misha will be featuring both acrylic paintings as well as acrylic and digital composite pieces at the Portland Art Open.
